Ima Jean Sayers
Age 90, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 23, 2016 at Sunnyhill Nursing Home with her family by her side.
Born February 3, 1926 in Moweaqua, IL, she was the daughter of Andrew and Elva (Baxter) Butts. She married Raymond Charles Sayers on June 11, 1948 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1988.
Ima Jean worked for many years as a Buyer for Lewis Brothers' Shoes in Joliet.
She was the loving mother of Debra Rae (David) Burns of Mokena, IL and Gail (Robert) Brady of Brainard, MN; beloved "Gummy" to five grandchildren, Tammy (Steven) Platek, Tracy (David) Rymarcsuk, Tana Kestel, Kena Sievert and Kelly Sievert; and great-grandma to Scott, Ashley, Emma, Haley and Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers, Wayne Routzen, Donald Butts and Maynard Butts.
The family would like to thank Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their loving care and support.
Funeral services for Ima Jean will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Visitation will be held WEDNESDAY MORNING from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. For information (815) 741-5500.
