Cheryl D. Marlowe
Age 61, of Plainfield, IL died unexpectedly Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. She was born November 7, 1955 in Green Bay, WI to June (Suprise) and the late Lawrence "Larry" Ascher. Cheryl moved with her family at a young age to Wheaton, IL where she was raised, and was a graduate with the Class of 1973 from Wheaton North High School.
Beloved mother of Stacy (Ryan) Evers and Stephanie Marlowe; proud and adoring grandmother of Aden, Lyndsey and Cameron; dearest daughter of June Ascher; loving companion of 22 years to John McGee; dear sister of Tom (Sue) Ascher, Gale (the late Richard) Kiedro, Dawn Escobedo and John Ascher. She is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry; brother-in-law, Richard Kiedro and nephew, Jeffrey Kiedro.
Cheryl was employed for many years as an accounts payable specialist with Shorr Packaging of Aurora, IL. She was an outdoors person, loved the slots, and was a great hostess and entertainer who loved to travel, especially to warm places, including Hawaii, a recent destination she thoroughly enjoyed.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until a prayer and remembrance service begins at 5:00 p.m. As it was Cheryl's wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
