James F. Lake, Sr.
James F. Lake Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by his family. Born in Lockport, IL in 1933; he was a lifelong Joliet resident since early childhood. Jim retired from Dow Chemical in 1995 and also worked at Caterpillar for over 11 years where he served as a volunteer fireman and GAF for 17 years. He was also active in AA for over 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survived by his children; Lennda (Victor) Jarosinski, Chip (Judy) Lake, Steven (Patty) Lake, Kelly (Tiffany) Lake, Patrick (Sandra) Lake and Kevin (Darlena) Wallace; grandchildren, Aaron (Melissa), Amy, Amanda, and Kurtis Lake, Amber (Nate) Stockinger, Shannon and Jason Lake, Adam (Crystal), Jason (Tanee) and Travis Wallace; great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Joey Jackson and Joshua and Brianna Lake; his sister, Cecelia Veihl of Joliet, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his loving wife Raychell Lake (2016); his parents, Corlie and Margaret (nee Blake) Lake; five brothers, Corlie, George, Eddie, Jack and Art Lake; three sisters, Lillian Shawmeker, Frances Butler, and Caroline McKanna; son-in-law, Jimmy Jackson; grandchildren, Jimmy Jackson II, Richard Jackson, Julie Jackson, DeAnna Lake and Errick Lake.
Funeral Services for James F. Lake Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to his family to be used in accordance with their wishes would be appreciated.
