Age 69, of Joliet, IL, passed away Monday, November 06, 2017, at home with her family by her side. She was born in Joliet, April 22, 1948, the daughter of the late Dr. Charles and Emma “Bim” (nee Rankin) Hoffman and was a lifelong resident. Lynne received her Master’s Degree in music and education from Texas Tech. Lynne was an educator, teaching at several local schools including 20 years at the Church of St. Jude Grade School. She took great pride in teaching piano and voice from her home.
Surviving is her loving husband of over 40 years, Richard Hastert of Joliet; her son, William Hastert of Mokena; her sister, Janice (the late Bob) Wallace of KY; and three brothers, Robert Hoffman of MN, Dr. Charles “Chuck” (Dana) Hoffman of FL, and Arthur “Art” (Debbie) Hoffman of NC. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Lynne Hastert will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Private interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
