On Tuesday February 6, 2018, at the age of 49, Bernie was called from his home to his heavenly home following a courageous battle with A.L.S. His wife and family who were always by his side were there when he left this earth for the next life. Bernard was born in Joliet, on June 1, 1968, to the union of Bernard E. and Barbara A. (nee Johnson) Bazik. He was a graduate from Lincoln Way Central High School, a member of Life Church in Morris, and was a skilled iron worker who loved working alongside his brothers at Local 444. He enjoyed spending time at the range, target shooting and he was a pretty good shot. The kind and generous person he was could be witnessed by the many people he would help and pull out of ditches when help was needed, he was there. He especially loved fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his grand kids and his family.
Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kelly (nee Condon) Bazik of Ottawa; two sons, Joshua (Ashlie) Bazik of Seneca and Brandon Bazik of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Jaeda and Jaxsten Bazik. His parents, Bernard E. and Barbara A. (nee Johnson) Bazik of Creal Spring, IL; one brother, Bryan (Melissa) Bazik of Frankfort, IL; two sisters, Lisa Monroe and Sheri Nicholson both of Homosassa, FL.; his two brother in-law, Keith “Skip” (Melissa) Condon of South Carolina and Guy (Devona) Condon of Palatine, IL; one sister in-law, Julie (Mark) Bjork of Wisconsin. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
