Obituary of Richard Manegold

Richard J. Manegold III Age 66. Passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois in Woodstock, with his family by his side. Born November 8, 1941 in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet and Plainfield area resident. He worked as a plasterer for R. J. Manegold & Sons Plastering before joining Commonwealth Edison, later Midwest Generation, in the mechanical maintenance department, retiring in 1999. For many years he served as Chief Steward of Local #1460 AFLCIO, now Local #15. An avid fisherman, he also loved archery and bow hunting and was Past President of the Joliet Bow Hunters. He also loved baseball, especially attending all of his grandson's games. He was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Surviving are his beloved wife, Kay L. (nee Hutt) Manegold of Plainfield; two children, Sheri (Joseph) Stubler of Crystal Lake, and Randy (Lisa) Manegold of Crest Hill; four grandchildren, Ryan Joseph Stubler, Sarah Kay Stubler, Kaylee Elise Manegold, and Chase Richard Manegold; his mother, Margaret (nee Stevens) Manegold of Gardner; three brothers, William Manegold, Robert (Audrey) Manegold, and Edward Manegold; and two sisters, Betty (Ike) Bull, and JoAnn (Lars) Agner. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christy Ann Manegold (1967) and his father, Richard J. Manegold, Jr. Chapel services for Richard J. Manegold, III will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 9: 30 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Inurnment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, Inpatient Unit, 527 W. South St., Woodstock, IL 60098 or Chappell Leukemia and Lymphoma Fund, Ste. 834, Professional Bldg., 1725 W. Harrison St., Chicago, IL. 60612,would be appreciated. There will be no visitation.
