Donald Wayne Shoemaker "Libby" Age 70. Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Mendon, MO and a longtime Channahon resident. Retired from the Santa Fe Railroad as a Signalman after over 44 years of service. A member of the Masonic Lodge and Mohammed Temple Shrine. He was an avid Ham Radio operator. Preceded by his son, Dennis W. Shoemaker (2004), his parents, and one brother. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma J. Shoemaker of Channahon; one daughter, Donna Rogers of Morris; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Shoemaker; and four sisters, June (James) Bachtel, Reba Hanson, Tammie (Jeff) Hill and Anita (Bob) Miller. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Private funeral services were held. As it was Donald's final request, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to his family in care of the funeral home. No visitation. Arrangements by: FRED C.
