Obituary of Aldon Watland

Aldon Bernard Watland Age 88. Went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 8, 2007. Born in East Moline, IL on August 5, 1919. Mr. Watland enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and spending time with family and friends. Member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morris, the American Rabbit Breeders Association and Disabled American Veterans. He worked many jobs in his life, he was a steamfitter for Bridge Iron Company in Ottawa, IL, he was employed Caterpillar Inc., Joliet, IL, was also a carpenter and retired from AT&T. Mr. Watland took great pride contributing to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edna (Lerette) Watland; his son, Bernard Aldon Watland; two sisters, Lucille Fitzpatrick and Bernadine Stoutt; one brother, Walter Watland Jr. Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years, Adele Yvonne (Page) Watland; one son, Gary (Kathy) Watland; one daughter, Arlene (Ward) Carroll; five grandchildren, Brett and Mark Watland, Kim Vacca, Brooke and Tori Watland; two great-grandchildren, Eric Vacca and Jacob Watland. Private family funeral services were held with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. NO VISITATION. Arrangements by: Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W.
