Obituary of William P. Deufel, Jr.

William P. Deufel, Jr. Age 82, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Silver Cross Hospital with his family at his side. Born March 6, 1934 in Chicago, he was the son of William P. and Vivian (Glickley) Deufel, Sr. He retired as Plant Manager of Walco Tool and Engineering after many years of service. Bill was a long time fan of the Chicago Bears and Blackhawks and was a "Die Hard Cubs Fan." He loved spending time with his children and grand kids. Surviving are his two sons, Kevin (Cathy) Deufel of Crest Hill and Kerry (Dawn) Deufel of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Matthew (Kim), Daniel, Andrew and Beth Deufel; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Deufel; his sister, Mary (Harold) Dolgner; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Peterson and Becky Deufel. Also surviving are his many long time neighborhood friends and Walco co-workers who were just like family. He was preceded by his beloved wife of 58 years, JoAnn (nee Figiel) Deufel (2013); his daughter, Karen A. Johnson (2013); his parents; and his brothers, Thomas Deufel and Keith Deufel. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Silver Cross Hospital for their care and concern. Visitation for William P. Deufel, Jr. will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery will be private. Memorials in his name to the wishes of the family to be distributed to the charities of their choice would be appreciated.
