Obituary of Kathryn A Prock

Kathryn A. Prock "Kaye" (nee Dracca) Age 79, of Plainfield, IL, passed unexpectedly, Friday, September 9, 2016 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. She was born March 15, 1937 to the late Clara (nee Burns) and Frank Dracca in Joliet, IL where she was raised and educated, a graduate of St. Francis Academy with the class of 1955 and Little Company of Mary Nursing School class of 1957. Beloved wife and best friend of 54 years to Dr. Francis "Brud" Prock; loving mother of Susan (Daniel) Hodgman, Francis "Waldo" (Susan) Prock, Mary Colleen "Doty" (Danny) Koerner and Kathleen Prock (Mark) Alford; proud and devoted grandmother of Colleen (Kevin) Chandler, Danny, Katelyn, Patrick Hodgman, Georgia, Jack, Henry Prock, Nick, Dana Koerner, and Molly Wynveen, Parker and Ally Alford. Dear friend to Karen and Charlie Novak. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Dracca. Kaye, a retired registered nurse, worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Oak Park Hospital and Rose de Lima Hospital in Henderson, NV. She will be remembered fondly as an extremely vivacious and caring woman. Her favorite activity in life was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and special canine companion "Louie". She also enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino and Springer Spaniel field trials. Her favorite holiday was Christmas when she delighted in giving gifts to all. She made Christmas Eve at her home a most treasured family tradition. A special thank you, to her doctor Phillip Bonomi; Irene; her special caregivers Dee, Krys, Cheri, and Tracey and the entire staff at Rush Hospital in Lisle. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 9:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet, to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
