Mildred A. Johnson
Age 81, of Morris, and formerly of Joliet, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Born March 13, 1935 in Joliet. She was the daughter of the late Harry Lehner and Carolyn (nee Chop) Gibbons.
Millie was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Morris, and volunteered for many years for the New Lenox V.F.W. Post #9545.
She will be remembered for her outstanding cooking and for her generosity to everyone. Millie will be missed by her family.
Survived by her five children, Margie (fiancé Stanley Niehoff) Sunbom, Marilou (Bill Horton) Kaluzny, Robert (Carol Sanchez) Johnson, Raymond Johnson and Russell Johnson; her six grandchildren, Jason Kaluzny, Adam Nurczyk, Jayme Johnson, Jody Horton, Carly Horton, and Lori Horton; her four great-grandchildren, Anna Wheet, Alanah and Daniel Horton and Alex Robert Ortega; three sisters Joni Mark, Margaret Davis and Charyll Colstock; and one brother John Gibbons.
She was preceded by one son, Richard Donald Johnson, Jr. and one sister, Beatrice Connors.
A Memorial Mass for Mildred Johnson will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 E. Jackson Street, Morris, where family and friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. until Mass begins. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Joliet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to her family would be appreciated for future disbursement to various causes, near and dear to Millie. Arrangements under the direction of the Fred C.
