Obituary of Jaime Mendez

Jaime Mendez Age 36, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 18, 2016. He and his wife, Mayra, were struck by a drunk driver while riding their motorcycle. Mayra survived but Jaime tragically did not. Born July 22, 1980 in Chicago, he was the son of Esteban and Diamantina Barrera. He worked as a District Sales Manager for Amerigas. He was passionate about his career and spent tireless hours achieving his goals as an employee. Jaime loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing golf and riding his motorcycle. He loved movies and a great meal. Jaime tried to live life to the fullest, He was a generous person, and always saw the good in people. If you needed him, he was always there going the extra mile. He was a loving husband, a devoted son, and a caring and proud father who always put his family and friends first. Jaime cherished every person in his life and called every friend "brother" because they were very important to him. Surviving are his beloved wife, Mayra Abril (Cedillo) Mendez; his children, Rebecca Mendez and Aaron Mendez; his parents Esteban Jaime and Diamantina Mendez; one brother, Erick X. Mendez; three sisters, Jeanette Mendez, Crystal Gabriela Mendez and Diamantina Mendez; and nieces and nephews, Alejandro, Carlos, Christopher Cardona, Jade Cardona, Jenifer Salgado, Fabian Mendez, Breanda Aguirre, Avrial Aguirre, Mateo Aguirre, Carlo Cedillo, Romina Cedillo, and Danica Cedillo, Goddaughter. The family is comforted to know that Jaime is reunited with his beloved brother, Alberto Mendez, and that some day we will all be together again. Funeral services for Jaime Mendez will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be private. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
