Obituary of Dorothy M. Blaskie

Dorothy M. Blaskie, (nee Durkee,) age 85, of Channahon, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 19, 2016 with her family at her side. Born in 1931 in Morris, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Broderick) Durkee. Her eight brothers, Edward, William, Robert, Donald, George, Erwin, James and John also preceded her in death. Dorothy was described as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a precious soul who cared deeply about her family. She will be remembered for her delicious pies. Surviving are her beloved husband of 61 years, Richard T. Blaskie of Channahon; one daughter, Karen Blaskie of Channahon; one son, John Blaskie of Shorewood; two granddaughters, Debi and Gina Blaskie; one sister, Helen (Marvin) Kessler of Coal City; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Dorothy M. Blaskie will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black and Essington Roads, Joliet. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
