Obituary of Raymond J. Feely

Raymond J. Feely Age 80, of Joliet, IL, died suddenly, Tuesday October 11, 2016 as the unfortunate result of an auto/pedestrian accident. Ray was born March 25, 1936 to the late Teresa (Buckholz) and Aloysius Feely in Joliet. He was raised on the family farm off of Plainfield Road and attended area schools, Wilson Grade School in Crest Hill and Lockport Township High School. A U. S. Navy Veteran, he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He is survived by his sister, Nancy (Thomas) Hebding of Willow Springs, IL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Hebding. Ray was employed as a Truck Driver for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found strolling the streets of Joliet on any given day. He was a lifelong area resident. A Memorial Mass will be held in honor of Ray at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway St., Joliet on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to the donors favorite charity or perhaps offering a kind word or random act of kindness to another would be greatly appreciated.
