Obituary of Marilyn J. Thomas

Marilyn J. Thomas Age 82. At rest peacefully January 1, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lockport, IL on April 28, 1934 to Arthur and Alma (nee Woldt) Wonnell. Retired from Woodland Elementary School with 45 years of service as a lunch lady and most recently was a member of the activities committee at Joshua Arms Senior Residences. Marilyn was an avid reader that regularly attended church at The First Church of God and The Harmony Holiness Church. Her greatest joys in life were watching her son perform with The Foggy Mountain Band and attending her grandson's sporting events. Survived by her grandson, Charles J. (Heather) Thomas; daughter-in-law, Tina Fenili Thomas; and was the aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles R. Thomas (1995); her son, Chuck A. Thomas (1994); and her siblings, Lorraine Robinette, Jean Gardner, William Wonnell, Edwin Wonnell, Norman Wonnell, Elsie Wonnell, Delores Wonnell, and Robert Wonnell. Funeral Services for Marilyn J. Thomas will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II. In lieu of flowers, memorial in her name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
