Obituary of Mary Margaret Williams

Mary Margaret Williams (nee Pubentz) Age 94, late of Plainfield, and a lifelong Joliet resident, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 18, 2017. Born November 13, 1922 in Joliet, she was the daughter of George and Marguerite (nee Hennessy) Pubentz. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy and received an Associate's Degree in Library Science from Joliet Junior College. Mary worked for Illinois Bell and the Bell Systems Center for Technical Education. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who enjoyed her life very much, especially playing Bingo and following her beloved Chicago Cubs. Surviving are her two devoted daughters, Kathleen (Ronald) Van Dyke of Plainfield, and Mary Jo (Jerry) Murphy of St. Charles; five grandchildren, Ronald (Elizabeth) Van Dyke, Jr., Thomas (Chrysteile) Murphy, Mark Murphy, Kevin (Rachel) Murphy, and Amy Murphy; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Edwin Williams (December 2, 1998); her parents; and one sister, Rita McCabe. A Memorial Mass for Mary M. Williams will be celebrated Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 N. Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet. Interment in Resurrection Mausoleum, Romeoville, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Catholic Academy would be appreciated. Fred C.
