Obituary of Louis Dean Kuk

Louis Dean Kuk "Dean" Age 74. At rest Friday, March 31, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Ottawa, IL the son of the late Louis and Veronica (nee Lucas) Kuk. A resident of Joliet since 1966. Graduate of Ottawa Marquette High School, Ottawa, IL, received his Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University and his Master's Degree from Chicago State University. Louis "Dean" taught at Lemont High School, Morton East and West High Schools and was a substitute teacher at Joliet West and Central High Schools before retiring with 38 years of service. He was a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300 and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are his 2 children, Dean (Aimee) Kuk of Kankakee and Traci Putnam of Shorewood; 6 grandchildren, Baylee and Chloee Kuk, Jacob Marek, Preston Marek, Alisa Putnam, and Kinsley Steele; 2 sisters, Joyce Buck of Pembroke Pines, FL and Connie Kuk of Chippewa Falls, WI; step brother of Jim (Colleen) Poulaki of Streator, IL, Jean Poulaki-Riccolo of Ottawa, IL and Judy Denbo of Ottawa, IL; his girlfriend, Donna Robinson of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by his wife, Cheryl (nee Miskell) Kuk (2001). Funeral Services for Louis Dean Kuk will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
