John B. Lux

Age 86. At Rest Wednesday April 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. Born and raised in Joliet, the son of the late John F. and Eva (nee Baker) Lux. Relocating to several places before returning to Joliet in 1988. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from The University of Notre Dame. John was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. A retired newspaper publisher and banker. His hobbies included golf and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn (nee Meyer) Lux of Joliet; three children, Tom (Anna) Lux of Glendale Heights, Debbie (Mike) Rickman of Payson, AZ and Karen (Joe) McNamara of East Amherst, NY; four grandchildren, Christine (Conner) Cox, Kathryn Lux, Joseph and Katelyn McNamara; one great grandson, Ryan Cox; several cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for John B. Lux will be held Monday May 1, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonatus, 604 N. Raynor Avenue, Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.  Visitation Sunday  3:00 - 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Catholic Academy would be appreciated.
