Thomas Paul Lozar

Age 70, passed away at his home in Joliet, IL on April 30th, 2017.  Born and raised in Joliet to Arthur and Victoria (nee Wisneski) Lozar.  He graduated from Joliet East High School class of 1965 and received a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University.  He married his wife of 47 years, Kathy, in the summer of 1969.  Over the past three years, he courageously battled cancer and was happy to celebrate his 70th birthday on April 15th with his children and grandchildren. Tom was an avid collector of antique cars.  His passion for cars was showcased as the proud owner/operator of Illinois Auto Supply for over three decades.  He enjoyed car races, skiing, fishing and watching old movies.  Most of all, Tom was a simple man who wholeheartedly enjoyed spending time with his family and a few close friends.

Survived by his loving wife, Kathy (nee Peceniak); his children, Kailyn Marriott (nee Lozar) and Keith (Rebecca) Lozar; grandchildren, Kaili and Kelsi Marriott and Jonah Lozar; mother-in-law, Marie Peceniak; brother-in-law, Jim Peceniak; sisters-in-law, Susan Meyer and Janet McDonald; nieces, Heather Goeppinger (Chris), Courtney Dziurawiec (Tony); and nephews, Joel Meyer, Nick and Jake Peceniak and Cameron McDonald. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents and his cousin/best friend in the world, Ray Aultz, who passed on April 27th, 2017.

Memorial Services for Thomas Paul Lozar will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL.  As it was his wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
