Jimmy E. Hudson

Age 75, of Plainfield, IL and formerly of Lansing, IL passed away Thursday evening, May 4, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born in Berry, AL to the late Claudine (nee Nelson) and James Hudson, he was raised in Hammond, IN and a graduate of the former Hammond Tech where he met his wife Carol (nee Bogielczyk).

In addition to his wife of nearly 53 years, he is also survived by two sons, Timothy (Julie) Hudson and James (Jennifer) Hudson; two grandsons, Joshua and Andrew; one sister, Annette Dickerson; two nieces; and two nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Agnes Buckles.

Jimmy, a retired firefighter (Lieutenant) with the City of Lansing, IL, was a classic car enthusiast. His original '32 Chevy won several awards over the years.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 8, 2017, 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd), Joliet, IL. to Holy Family Catholic Church 600 N. Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, IL where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Committal prayers also Monday at 1:00 p.m. CST at Chapel Lawn Cemetery Chapel in Schererville, IN with interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
