Obituary of Theresa K. Adams

Theresa K. Adams, age 95, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.

She was born December 7, 1921  in Joliet, to Josef and Sophie (Luscher) Kump, and was a graduate of St. John the Baptist Grade School and Joliet Township High School, Class of 1939.  She was an active parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Raymond and a former member of the Council of Catholic Women.

Theresa loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family.  She was always loving, positive and encouraging and will be remembered for her supportive dedication to her husband and children, along with her excellent sewing and baking skills.  She was a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 74 years, Bert G. Adams, Sr.;  her children, Bert G. Adams, Jr. of Corona del Mar, CA, Jacqueline K. (Robert) Pedersen of Joliet, Beverly J. (late Joseph) Vota of Shorewood, Robert L. (Teresa) Adams of Channahon, and William D. Adams of Joliet; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Betty Kump.

Preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Alma (Thomas) Polyak, Margaret and Dorothy in infancy, Betty (Martin) Lousher, and Edith (Leonard) Jackinoski; and two brothers, Arnold (Irma) Kump and Alfred Kump.

Funeral services for Theresa K. Adams will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 9:15 a.m.  from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 10:00 a.m.  Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.  Memorials in her name to Mayo Clinic would be appreciated.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
