Obituary of John Clifton Kellogg

John Clifton Kellogg, age 83, of Morris for 31 years, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Park Pointe Manor, Morris, with his beloved wife by his side.

Born November 27, 1933 in Sandstone Township, Jackson, MI, he was the son of Charles and Della (Wilcox) Kellogg.  He attended Michigan State University.  John was a proud Teamster member retiring in 1998, and was a past member of FOP Eagles in Morris.

John was a farmer raising livestock and an over the road truck driver. He loved to attend auctions and was an avid collector of antique farm machinery, anvils, spurs and bits.  He also loved the rodeo and competed in the calf roping event when he was a young man.

Surviving is his wife of 34 years Luella Kellogg; three children, David (Tanya) Kellogg of Braceville IL, John Michael (Julie) Mohr of Winchester IL, and Susanne (Steve) Howard of Auburn IL; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsea and Kody Kellogg of Braceville IL, Jamie (Nick) Franke of Chatham IL, Brett (Chrystal) Mohr of Auburn IL, Nichole Foster and Casie Howard of Springfield IL; and four great-grandchildren, Payton and Jax Franke, and Kylee and Liam Mohr. Three sisters-in-law, Shirley Gilliland of New York, Judi Miller of Fisher IL and Marilyn Carpenter of Mechanicsburg IL; several nieces and nephews of Michigan and Illinois; and special friend, Josie Markus also survive.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Rosaline Campbell.

A Memorial Gathering for John Kellogg will be held Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W Route 6 at Deerpath, Morris. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Cremation Rites have been accorded and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer Research or Morris Hospital Transportation would be appreciated.
