Obituary of Christine Pappas

Christine Pappas
(nee Kapogiannis)

Age 94, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, June 13, 2017 at her home.

She was born June 10, 1923 in Kapsia, Greece, and was the daughter of John and Efstathia (nee Stavropoulos) Kapogiannis.

Christine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.  She was a hard worker and would do anything for everyone.  She will be remembered for her delicious cooking and her sharp memory.

Surviving are her devoted son, George Pappas of Joliet; one brother, Angelo J. (the late Panagoula) Kappas of Joliet; a daughter-in-law, Karen Pappas of Fremont, IN; one granddaughter, Tina (Mike) Zuccolotto; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Kaylie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Pappas (1972); her parents; one son, John Pappas (1990); two brothers, Dimitri and Kostadinos; and one sister, Georgia.

Funeral services for Christine Pappas will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 102 N. Broadway, Joliet, for services at 9:30 a.m.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Memorials in her name to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
