Obituary of Lorraine E. Davidson

Lorraine E. Davidson, age 95, late of Homer Glen, and formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 3, 2017 at Mother Theresa Home in Lemont, with her devoted family by her side.

Born December 1, 1921 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Willard and Catherine (Cronin) Sanders.  She moved to Morris as a teenager, and was a Joliet and Lockport area resident her entire adult life.

Lorraine retired from the office of Dr. Paul Morimoto where she worked in the optical department for many years.  She was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and the Council of Catholic Women, and enjoyed attending daily mass at St. Joseph Medical Center.  Lorraine was also a board member and past president of the Fin Nuala Condo Association.

She travelled extensively throughout the United States and many foreign countries, but most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Surviving are her beloved daughter, Linda (the late Jim) Abrams of Homer Glen; three loving grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Walter, James (Sarah) Abrams and Jason (Stacy) Abrams; five dear great-grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia, Parker, Noah and Lucas Abrams; one brother-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, R. LeRoy Davidson (May 29, 1995); one infant son, Michael; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services for Lorraine Davidson will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet, where visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., until time of services.  Interment will be Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.  Fred C.
