Obituary of John E. Bidgood

John E. Bidgood
  "Jack"

Age 91. John peacefully passed away at Menorah Manor in St. Petersburg Florida with his daughter by his side. He was born on March 8, 1926 in Joliet, IL and a lifelong Joliet, Lockport and a Plainfield, IL area resident, before relocating to Florida to be closer to his daughter one year ago. John was a fiercely proud World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and loved his God, his family and his country. He retired from Ceco Steel as a Manager of operations after many years of service. However, full time employment was not enough for Mr. John Bidgood, throughout his managerial career had always kept busy with other part time employment. He had technichical expertise in the heating and air conditioning field and worked for many prestigious local companies including Carnegie Oil, Pure Oil and Lockwood Furnace Company. John loved his life, most of all spending time with his family brought him the greatest joy, he also spent many calming hours in his garden. His life story would not be complete without the annual pilgrimage to Honolulu, Hawaii.  This is where John and his wife would truly connect and appreciate all the gifts life had given him.   Football was the sport of choice whether it was professional or college it was an event that was not to be missed. John was a wonderful person who had a kind word for everyone he met; he will be missed by all who knew him.
