Kevin W. Weigerding

Passed away at age 56, suddenly on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 while he was preparing to awaken for the day and apparently suffered a heart attack to the shock of his family and friends. He was born in Joliet, raised in Lockport, and was a longtime Willowbrook and Joliet area resident. Kevin was formerly employed by the United States Postal Service in Bedford Park, IL. He was a member of Family Harvest Church. Kevin was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching as many games as he could. He was a proud member of the Golden Corral breakfast club where he celebrated life and scripture with his church brethren.

He was preceded by his parents, William and Jayne (nee Peters) Weigerding.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lynne Ann (nee Busse) Weigerding of Shorewood; two daughters, Kaitlynne (Greg) Esposito of Woodridge and Heather Weigerding of Shorewood; one son, Zechariah Weigerding of Alaska; one brother, Jeffrey (Lori) Weigerding of Sandwich and one sister, Kathy (Carl) Kolb of Wisconsin. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for Kevin W. Weigerding will be Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home Chapel, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Patty Plante officiating. As it was Kevin’s request, cremation rites will be accorded following services. Interment will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln national Cemetery with full military honors to be conducted under the auspices of the United States Navy.
