Alice L. Roberts passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.  Alice was born March 9, 1927 in Karnak, IL to the late Ellen (nee Jones) and Orville Snyder.  She married Kenneth C. Roberts on January 9, 1943 and had resided in Joliet since 1956.

Alice was employed for 40 years at the Joliet Public Library (downtown branch).  Alice attended Stone Hill Bible Church. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, eating sweets and most of all, chit-chatting with people.  She never met a stranger.

Beloved wife of 74 years to Kenneth C. Roberts; loving mother of  Pamela (Darrell) Richards; also survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Griggs of Danville; her sister-in-law, Margaret Snyder of Ocala, Fl; her half brother, Stan (Josie) Snyder and her half sister, Loretta Underwood.  Several nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Holt of Lockport and her brother, James Snyder of Ocala, FL.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, where Alice resided for the past nine years, for all their care and support throughout her stay.

Funeral Services for Alice L. Roberts will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Ave., Joliet.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fred C.
