Obituary of Robert Radakovich

Robert Radakovich passed away on Thursday August 3, 2017 at the age of 89.  He was born in Joliet and a lifelong resident until relocating to Pittsburgh, PA for a number of years before returning to Joliet 35 years ago. A graduate of St. Edward University in Austin, TX, DeLasalle (Joliet Catholic) High School and Fairmont Grade School.  Robert retired from McGraw Edison Company as Vice President after many years of service. He was a lifelong member of St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church and also attended St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.  Robert was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Helen (nee Baron) Radakovich; one brother Michael Radakovich; and one sister Marie Radakovich.

He is survived by a loving sister Millie Radakovich of Joliet and a sister, Anne "Honey" (Bill) Allen of Peoria, IL. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive as well as loving friends and neighbors, Bill and Karen Thomas.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Ramesh Patel and the staff of Senior Star of Romeoville, Joliet Area Community Hospice and Home Instead for all the excellent care and compassion shown to Robert and our family.

Funeral Services for Robert Radakovich will be held on Monday August 7, 2017 at 10:30 from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds. to Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery for Graveside Services to be conducted at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Sava Serbian or St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in his name would be appreciated.
