Helen bids farewell to her beloved children Michael (Ann) Cremeens, James (Judy) Cremeens, Mary Ann (Marty) Mudron, Maureen (Thomas) Cercone, Katherine Johnson, and Richard Cremeens.  She was affectionately known as Grandma Darlin’ and Grandma "C" by her 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In 1959, Helen won a trip to travel the world with her husband. Her sister lovingly took all eight of her children into her home with her own four children, Kathleen, Margaret, Mary and Eddie, whom Helen loved as her own.

Helen taught 1st grade in the area for 50 years. Helen was a woman with a deeply generous heart and often provided supplies and clothing for her students in need.

Helen and Clarence met shortly after the end of World War II in Bloomington-Normal and married in 1947. She remained lovingly devoted to him through 47 years of marriage upon his death in 1994.  Helen completed her bachelor’s degree while teaching full time and raising eight children.

Helen never wavered from her devotion to God, faith, and endless love of family. A remarkable woman from humble beginnings, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, love, and beautiful spirit.
