Raymond C. Kinney

Raymond C. Kinney passed away peacefully at his home with his sister and friends by his side on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the age of 84.  Born and raised in Joliet, Raymond and his sister, Lou Ann, owned and operated Ray Kinney Motors Jeep Dealership on Center and Jefferson Sts. in Joliet.  Ray proudly served in the U.S. Navy, loved boating and dealing antique cars.  He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Ray is survived by his sister, Lou Ann Kinney; his friend and caregiver David Duda; many friends and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Loretta (nee O’Reilly) Kinney and numerous aunts and uncles.

Funeral services for Raymond C. Kinney will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. James Lennon as Celebrant.  Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to The Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  For more information, please call 815-741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
