(nee Swindells)

Age 80, of Joliet, IL, passed peacefully Monday September 18, 2017 at Alden Estates of Shorewood.  She was born October 14, 1936 in Joliet, to the late Ethel (nee Adamson) and Fred Swindells.  Jackie lived in Lockport until her marriage. She attended Lockport Township High School, Class of 1954.

Beloved wife of 61 years to John P. "Jack" Gleason; loving mother of John J. (Fran) Gleason of Colorado Springs, CO and Jeanette (Dan) Stevenson of Shorewood, IL; dearest grandmother of Patrick (Marcia) Kriz, Maria Kriz, Kathleen "Katie" (Denny) Rainford; Kelsey, Megan and Joshua Stevenson; proud great-grandmother of Emily, Michelle, Rachel and Lindsey Kriz.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She will also be missed by her canine companion "Phil".

Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert (late Joan) Swindells.

Jackie retired from Presence Villa Franciscan after 18 years of faithful service.  She possessed a warm heart and a very pleasant demeanor.  She will be dearly missed by her family whom she so enjoyed spending time with.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 23, 2017, 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am.  Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials in her name can be made to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.
