Stephen S. Paul
At the age of 76, Stephen S. Paul passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his home following a recent diagnosis of cancer. He was born in Joliet and was a lifelong Joliet and Troy Township resident. He was a U. S. Army veteran. He attended Joliet Junior College and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1959, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School. Steve retired from Pabst Blue Ribbon Products as a truck driver after many years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #179. Steve loved playing baseball in his youth and could be found swinging a bat quite often. His favorite past time was spending time with family and friends, playing in his band, "Tel-Stars", and playing cards.
He is preceded by his parents, Raymond and Virginia (nee Miller) Paul.
Survived by his loving daughter, Jodi (Randy) Hicks, of Plainfield; three grandsons, Jason Hicks of Aurora, Brett Hicks and Dillon Hicks, both of Plainfield; his former wife and lifelong companion, Paula (nee Thomson) Paul of Joliet; one brother, John “Jack” (Andrea) Paul, of Channahon; one nephew, Michael (Tammy) Paul of Wellington, FL; and one niece, Nancy (Carl) Deliman, of North Aurora. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his faithful canine companions, Penny and Cassie, also survive.
Funeral Services for Stephen S. Paul were held with an intimate gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life. As it was Steve’s request, cremation rites have been accorded.
