Obituary of Henry A. Miller

Henry A. Miller, age 97, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, at home, on Thursday, September 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  

Born on March 2, 1920 in Patterson, Greene County, Illinois, he was the son of Frank C. and Hattie (Daniels) Miller, and a graduate of White Hall High School.  He proudly served with the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

Henry retired from the Lockport Texaco Oil Refinery, where he worked as a welder and fabricator, and later as a supervisor, with 43 years of service.  He was a member of Faith Bible Church, Joliet.

He will be remembered for the example he set for his family and the lifelong guidance he provided his four sons.  

Surviving are three sons, Michael (Carol) Miller of Channahon, Carl (Angela) Miller and Ed (Cindy) Miller, both of Coal City; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle (the late Ardwin) Akers of Alton; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Miller of New Lenox; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Clover E. (Cox) Miller (2008); one son, Stephen Miller; his parents; a daughter-in-law, Robin Miller; and four sisters.

Funeral Services for Henry A. Miller will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, where visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The Rev.
