Wanda C. Haake
(nee Lorek, Weeditz)

Age 96, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Plainfield.

Born January 18, 1921 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Joseph G. and Sophie (nee Bogusz) Lorek, Sr.  She was a Joliet area resident most of her life, and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women.

Survived by her son, Joseph J. Weeditz of Utah; one daughter, Agnes E. (the late Bernard) Tobin of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, including Debbie (Steve) Zelinski of Joliet , Mary (Shane) DeBerry of Gardner, and Carrie (John) Cline of Joliet; six great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ronald Korczak of Joliet; one sister, Lorraine (the late Andrew) Jaskowiak of Crest Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William G. Haake (March 27, 2012); her first husband, Joseph F. Weeditz;  one daughter, Jean M. Korczak; her parents, Joseph and Sophie Lorek; three brothers, Stanley J. Lorek, Matthew (Frances) Lorek, and Bruno Lorek.

The family would like to thank their family physician of 30 years, Dr. Kishor Ajmere, Dr. Haverik, Kindred Hospice, and the staff of Lakewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their loving care and support.

Funeral services for Wanda C. Haake will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 12:15 p.m.,  from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, IL, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m.  Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.  Visitation will be held Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
