Joan Reardon

Obituary of Joan M. Reardon

Joan M. (nee Cunningham) Reardon died peacefully, October 16, 2017 in Morris, IL.  She was born April 14, 1927 in Seattle, Washington to Joseph Henry “Hank” and Yvonne L. (nee Goulet) Cunningham.  She moved to Illinois with her family in 1943, and it was here she met her beloved husband of 64 years, Thomas C. Reardon.  Joan and Tom farmed north of Seneca throughout their married life.  Joan also attended Illinois Valley Community College, receiving an Associate Degree in Library Science, and worked as a librarian for Seneca Public Library and Milton Pope Grade School.

Joan was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Seneca, and its Altar and Rosary Society, until moving to Morris following the death of her husband.  Since then, she has been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Morris, and was involved with their Pro-Life Ministry.

For nearly 20 years, Joan was an active volunteer with I Care International, providing the gift of better vision and health to residents of Mexico and Central America.
