Obituary of Kenneth C. Gvist

Kenneth C. Gvist passed away at home, Saturday morning, October 21, 2017 at the age of 62.  Ken was born in Lorain, OH, the son of the late Eugene and Enid (DeWitt) Gvist and resided in Morris since 2014.  He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and the former owner of Affordable Temperature Control Inc. of Elmhurst, IL.  Known as an avid fisherman and boater who could be seen around the campground upon his golf cart.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Brenda (Kautz) Gvist of Morris; his three sons, Brian (Lisa) of Melrose Park, IL, Larry (Jamie) of Sanatobia, MS and James (Crystal) Gvist of Steger, IL; his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol (Michael) Brooks of CA; and four brothers, Thomas (Pat) of The Villages, FL, Richard (Linda) of OH, Andy (Cindy) of GA and Timmy (Kathy) Gvist of CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Kenneth C. Gvist will take place Tuesday October 24, 2017 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 West Route 6 (at Deerpath Dr.) Morris, IL 60450 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m.  Interment will take place privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
