“Jay”

Gerald Leo Wroblewski, age 71, passed away at his home in Shorewood on Sunday, November 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on August 29, 1946 in Winamac, Indiana to the late Harry and Mary (nee Buczkowski) Wroblewski.  Jay grew up in Chicago and was raised in Homer Township, a graduate of Lockport High School, Class of 1965.  He was the Captain of Three of a Kind Fishing Boat Chartering and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.  Jay retired in 2007 from Sears after 35 years of dedicated service as a Salesman.  Jay’s personality was loved by many.  He loved his beloved wife Noel, his teenage sweetheart.  His life revolved around the family he was close to, his daughters and his grandsons.  In his spare time, Jay enjoyed fishing, playing cards and craps as well as the many vacations spent with very close friends.

He was preceded by his parents and his daughter, Criquette Wroblewski.

Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Noel (nee Kwasniewski) Wroblewski; daughters, Christal (Bill) Meyer and Cheri Lynn (fiancé, Nicholas Kaster) Wroblewski; three grandsons, Alexander, Mitchell and Russell Meyer; sister, Karen (Leo) Szynkowski, brother, Dennis Kwasniewski; niece, Kari Ann (Mike) Hostetter; nephew, Phillip (Garbriella) Wroblewski and several other siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Jay Wroblewski will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.  As it was his request, cremation rites will follow services.  Visitation will be held Friday 4-7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
