“Junior”

Age 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Villa Franciscan Nursing Home.  He was born April 26, 1938, the son of the late Edward P., Sr. and Mildred (nee Latz) Berens.  Edward was a lifelong area resident.  A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, Class of 1957, he was active in the glee club, band and football.  Edward sang with Barbershop Quartets for several years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, where he held several different positions.  He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1995, following 30 years of dedicated service.  

Surviving are his two children, David (Julie) Berens of Channahon, and Patricia Berens of Joliet; his three grandchildren, Haley, Alec and Kalia Berens; seven step children; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his beloved wife, Loma Beth (nee Berryman) Berens (2015); his parents; and his brother, Andrew Berens.

Funeral Services for Edward P. Berens, Jr. will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C.
