Mary Dorothy Maxwell

(nee Nakoneczny)

At the age of 100, Mary Maxwell passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017 with her husband by her side at the Avamere Nursing Home in Boise, Idaho.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1916, the daughter of Polish and Ukrainian parents.  Mary attended Catholic grammar schools and John Paul Jones Junior High School.  During WWII, she assembled radios, and worked as a telephone operator.  She married Jerrold Maxwell in Philadelphia in 1956, and they were happily married for 61 years. Together they lived in Philadelphia, PA, Trenton and Woodhaven, MI, Matteson and Minooka, IL and Boise, ID.  Jerry's family lived in central Idaho, and they visited there every year.  Mary loved nature, animals, her home and family.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Jerrold; two sisters, Irene Pelszynski and Olga Genieczki; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Nackony; her sister, Victoria Sliwinski; and her parents, Nicholas and Katherine Nakoneczny.

Funeral Services for Mary D. Maxwell were held at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. As it was Mary's request, cremation rites have been accorded.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Fred C.
