Jack J. Querio
Born in Joliet, the son of the late John and Mildred (nee Lawler) Querio, he was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of St. Raymond Grade School, Joliet Catholic High School (1946) and Joliet Junior College (1948). Jack retired from IL Bell Telephone Co. in 1982 and was the proprietor of JJQ Ltd., a customer service company, primarily working with First National Bank of Joliet for 20 years (1982-2002). He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Aurora, Rotary Club of Chicago Heights, Rotary Club of Aurora, past president of Marycrest Little League Baseball Association, Crisis Line of Will County, Will/Grundy Medical Clinic, St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Joliet. Jack enjoyed boating with the Three River's Yacht Club, serving as Commodore.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Lou (nee Schager) Querio; two sons, Jack J. (Judy) Querio and Jeff (Mary Jo) Querio all of Joliet; his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Jason) Pedaci of Philadelphia, PA; sister-in-law, Pat Schager of Crest Hill; and dearest uncle of Leann (Paul) Passalano, A.J. Schager, Scott (Jody) Schager and Christine Schager. Numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins also survive.
The Querio family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Joliet Area Community Hospice, Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home and Dr. Karl Szafranski for all their loving and compassionate care.
Funeral services for Jack J. Querio will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 11:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion Street, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
