Violet S. Michaels

Age 91, formerly of Romeoville and Willow Springs, IL passed away peacefully Saturday January 13, 2018. She was born April 18, 1926 to the late Josephine and Vincent Kasakauskas in Chicago, IL.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Michaels; dearest aunt of several, including Claudette (Robert) Soltis; fond great aunt of Gail Centano (John Scara), Laura Soltis, Renee Gilliat and Susan Ahlgren; loving great-great aunt of Lauren (David) Mola; and her sister-in-law, Lou Ann “Violet” Keeling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings.

Violet retired from Allegheny Steel after many years of dedicated service as a cost estimator for various steel products. She enjoyed traveling with Tony, especially wintering in Texas after retirement. “Auntie Purple” will fondly be remembered as a gracious host and fantastic gourmet cook who was always there to help.
Visitation will be held Wednesday January 17, 2018 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. at Essington Rd. in Joliet.  All friends and relatives are asked to meet Thursday, January 18, 2018, 12:45 p.m. at the Chapel of St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery 4401 W. 111th St., Chicago, IL 60655 where committal prayers will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow.
