Obituary of Naoma G. Wilhelmi

Naoma G. Wilhelmi, (nee Glasscock), age 92, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, February 1, 2018 at Autumn Leaves of Bolingbrook.

Born November 4, 1925 in Joliet, she was a lifelong resident.  Naoma was a member of the Church of St. Jude, and a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she also sang in the choir.  She taught third grade at Laraway School for six years.  She and her late husband were also members of the Joliet Squares Square Dance Club.

Surviving are her three loving children, Alan F. (Heidi) Wilhelmi of Pacifica, CA, Douglas G. (Anne) Wilhelmi of Weaverville, NC and Sharon (Pepin Barrameda) of Fremont, CA; six grandchildren, Erika Wilhelmi, Jeremy Kaskowitz, Amy (Amanda) Kaskowitz-Profitt; James Wilhelmi, Sheila (Tim) Foley and Katerina Wilhelmi; three great-grandchildren, Trinity, Jace, and Dakota, and a fourth due soon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Fred G. Wilhelmi (2015); one daughter, Marcia, in infancy; one grandson, Fred Wilhelmi (2017); her parents, William Roscoe and Melissa (nee Canaday) Glasscock; two sisters, Belle Simpson-Gosnell and Florence Glasscock; and two brothers, William and Herbert Glasscock.

Funeral services for Naoma G. Wilhelmi will be Monday, February 5, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Church of St. Jude or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.  Visitation will be held Sunday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
