Mary A. Stefanich

Age 92, born in Lockport Township, on July 14, 1925, to Marko and Mildred (nee Lazich) Kristich.  Mary was a lifelong Crest Hill area resident.  She was previously employed with the Will County Assessor’s Office and also the Joliet Public Library.

Mary is survived by her loving sister, Rosemary Horvath; brother, Michael Kristich; and sister-in-law, Beradyn Stefanich.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Frank “Curly” Stefanich; parents, Marko and Mildred (nee Lazich) Kristich; brother, Peter (the late Fran) Kristich; sisters, Ruby Richardson, Catherine (the late Raymond) Grskovic Harris; brothers-in-law, Edward Horvath, Mathew Stefanich, Joseph (the late Marjorie) Stefanich, Louis Stefanich, Edward (the late Mary) Stefanich and Peter Stefanich; and sisters-in-law, Ann Stefanich, Catherine (the late Stan) Merzlock and Jean (the late Robert) Wolz.

Visitation for Mary A. Stefanich will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 N. Broadway, Joliet, from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Fred C.
