Brian Bollman

Obituary of Brian Ray Bollman

Brian Ray Bollman passed away comfortably and peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.  He was born on February 26, 1951, in Peru, IL, and was raised in Arcola, IL.  Brian was a Class of 1969 graduate of Arcola High School.  Brian was a natural athlete; he was the star quarterback of the football team and also played basketball and ran track.  He continued his academic studies at Illinois State University where he played football and graduated with a Bachelor's degree.

Brian worked as an electrician for many years and later became a chemical operator, retiring from Dow Chemical, which later became Americas Styrenics, in Channahon, IL.

Brian lived in Bloomington, IL, during his young adult life.  Later, he moved to Seneca, IL, where he spent most of the rest of his life and helped raise his daughter, Brittney.  In 2017 he moved to Granger, IA, near Des Moines, to be near his daughter's family, where they currently live. Brian enjoyed raising horses when he was young and was the lead singer of a band as a young adult.  Brian enjoyed boating and fishing, playing golf, music, attending sporting events, and spending time with family.  He has been described by his friends and family as genuine and charismatic.  He would do anything for anyone and had one of the biggest hearts you could find.  Brian was caring, loving, and was always up for a good time.  He had a contagious laugh and smile, and remained positive even throughout poor health.  He will be missed by many and will always be remembered.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Brittney (Dustin) Mueller of Granger, Iowa, formerly from Seneca and Morris;  granddaughter, Brynn Mueller of Granger, Iowa; sister, Brenda (Bill) Wightman of Palm Coast, Florida; nieces, Amber Wightman of Jacksonville, Florida and  Ashley Wightman of Palm Coast, Florida; and nephew, Alex Wightman of Palm Coast, Florida.  Brian also stayed in touch with his daughter's brother, Graham Chapman and his family of Coal City, IL, and treated them as his own family.

He is preceded by his parents, John and Betty (nee Stout) Bollman.
