Helen Krieger
(nee Forkal)

Helen Krieger, age 98, of Joliet, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Rock Run Place Senior Living.  Helen was born in Joliet, the daughter of the late William and Julia (nee Krimka) Forkal, and was a lifelong resident.  Helena was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother.  In her earlier years, Helen enjoyed bowling, meeting friends at the Knights of Columbus, and loved to dance!

Helen is survived by her five children, Mary Catherine (Stephen) Kapella of Joliet, IL, Robert Duane (Sonnya) Krieger of Tinley Park, IL, Patricia Susan (Andrew) Kramer of Fountain Hills, AZ, Jeffrey Stephen Krieger of East Hartford, CT, and Dennis Joseph Krieger of Dyersburg, TN; her five grandchildren, Wendy, Matthew, Kristin, Jessica, and Kayla; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Krieger (2003), her parents, and seven siblings.

Funeral services for Helen Krieger will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.  Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  For more information, please call 815-741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
