Obituary of Marjorie Ann Worek

Age 89, of Joliet, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.  She was born November 11, 1928, in Morris, IL, to the late James and Theresa (nee Gentile) Peterson.  Marjorie was raised in Joliet, attending St. Raymond Grade School and Joliet Township High School.  Marjorie was a long-time member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus.  She was a member of the A Capella Choir at the Joliet Township High School.  Marjorie loved making ceramics.

Beloved wife of 69 years to Joseph Worek; loving mother of William M. (Mary Jane) Worek; proud grandmother of Christopher Joseph Worek and Michael William Worek; dear sister of Ralph (Gerri) Peterson and Rita Reilly; and fond aunt of several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and Phillip Peterson.

Funeral services for Marjorie Ann Worek will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 11:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to St. Raymond Grade School or Joliet Catholic Academy would be appreciated.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
