Obituary of Andrew James Hulina

Andrew James Hulina

Age 80, at rest on Monday, November 5, 2018.  Andrew was born January 29, 1938 in Joliet, and was a lifelong resident having graduated from St. Joseph Grade School, Joliet Catholic High School and Lewis University.  He retired from the U.S. Post Office, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, was an accomplished accordion player and orchestra leader, and a member of Joliet Federation of Musicians.

Andrew is survived by his two brothers, Richard E. (Bonnie) Hulina of Chicago, and Thomas J. (Kathy) Hulina of Lisle; and four nieces and nephews, Edward (Amy) Hulina, Elizabeth (Jim) Kurtzweil, Holly (Chris) Gange and Scott Hulina.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sophie (nee Papesh) Hulina (2000), Andrew Hulina (2007); his nephew, Brian Hulina (2008); and his longtime friend and companion, Joyce L. Nichols (2017).

Funeral Services for Andrew James Hulina will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 N. Chicago St., Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be THURSDAY MORNING, from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation, 540 W.
