Obituary of Helen Gierich

Helen E. Gierich (nee Bujan) Age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Born in Griffin, IL and a Joliet resident since 1967. A long time member of Provena Saint Joseph Auxiliary, working in the gift shop. She was active in St. Mary's CCW and the McDonald's Breakfast Club. Preceded in death by her husband, John C. "Jack" Gierich, Sr. (1995); parents, John and Catherine (nee Grubesic) Bujan; four sisters, Lou Bujan, Tillie Golik, Mary Domyancic and Velma Sepich; one brother, Joseph Bujan; brother-in-law, Bill (Janet) Gierich; and one great-granddaughter, Kristina Brachle. Survived by five children, Barbara (Robert) Brachle of Channahon, Nancy (Gordon) Beutel of Plainfield, John (Donna) Gierich of Lockport, Thomas (Mary) Gierich of Plainfield and Trisha (Chuck) Stoner of Joliet. Helen was the loving grandmother of Cindy (Joe) Sjostrom, Robert (Angie) Brachle, Jennifer Brachle, Kim (Jim) Rock, Kevin (Angie) Beutel, Keith (Jenny Bourg) Beutel, Jason (Carrie) Gierich, Lisa Gierich, Staci Gierich, Sean Gierich, Chris (Heather) Hughes, Erin (Chris) Finn and Brian Hughes; she was the great-grandmother of Allison and Taylor Rock; Charlie and Alex Brachle; Morgan and Kylee Beutel; Morgan Carrier; and Madeline and Emily Hughes; also survived by many dear friends, nephews, nieces, cousins and sisters-in-law, Charlene (the late Robert) Maxwell, Mary (the late Charles) Macier and Agnes Bujan. Funeral Services for Helen E. Gierich will be Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
