Obituary of Roger Holland

Roger D. Holland Age 67. Late of Morris and formerly of Manville, died peacefully, Wednesday December 12, 2007 at the Morris Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Streator, IL December 20, 1939 to the late Elton and Veta (Conner) Holland. He was a graduate of Streator Woodland High School and attended Bradley University in Peoria. A U.S. Army Veteran and member of the American Legion Post #294 in Morris. He retired from Commonwealth Edison after 27 years of service. Roger's hobbies included woodworking, coin collecting, gardening, and supporting his grandchildren's sporting events at Morris and Seneca High Schools. He is survived by his devoted companion and friend, Jan Tondini of Morris; children, Lisa (Mike) Odd of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Mike (Jenny) Holland of Streator, Scott (Lori) Holland of Streator, Roger (Angie) Holland of Urbana and Chris (Julee) Holland of Bloomington, IL. He was thought of as a Dad and Grandpa by the family of Dawn (Mike) Pearson of Seneca and Paul Louis (Nancy) Tondini of Morris. He will be missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As it was Roger's wish, there will be no services. Cremation Rites have been accorded by the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to the JOHA Foundation c/o Morris Oncology Center, 1600 W. Route 6, Morris, IL. 60450.
