Sandra Kay Prodehl
Sandra Kay “Sandy” Prodehl passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at the age of 75, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. She was born in Joliet, IL on March 13, 1943 to the late Edith (Glasgow) and Kenny “KT” Thomson. Sandy was raised in Plainfield and graduated with the class of 1961 from Plainfield High School.
Beloved mother of Kimberly Keiser of Joliet, Greg Prodehl of Morris, Toby “TC” (Jennifer) Coover of Yorkville, Christine Galindo of Corpus Christi, TX, and Dawn Prodehl (Darrin) Butler; loving and devoted grandmother of Justin and Joshua Keiser, Morgan and Anna Prodehl, Tanner and Tessa Coover, Jessica Chavez, Amanda Galindo, and Anthony Galindo, Tyler Butler and Courtney Dodd; proud great grandmother of Travis, Kira, Liliana, Lillian, and Easton; and dear sister of James (Penny) Thomson of Minooka and John (Laure) Thomson of Cottonwood, AZ. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Prodehl; her parents; and a sister, Charlene Pastore.
Sandy will be remembered as a strong, yet selfless, woman of great courage. She battled cancer with grace and dignity, all the while, teaching us how to overcome adversity.
All friends and relatives are invited to join Sandy’s family in celebrating her life at on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Sharon United Methodist Church, 23913 W. Lockport St., Plainfield, IL, where a Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. As it was Sandy’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
